OFF THE WIRE
The four golden rules to firearm safety:
1. All guns are always loaded. Treat all guns as if they are loaded, this is not negotiable.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. Do not point the gun at anything unless it is your chosen target.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. I find myself having to remind certain people of this too often, not negotiable.
4. Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at shadows and/or noises. Pay attention to your surroundings and that of your chosen target, ensure there are no bystanders or property past the firing line or too close to target. Remember most all rounds will penetrate and exit your chosen target, ensure you know what lies beyond it, you will shoot it as well.
